Foxtail Millet Paniyaram

  • Foxtail Millet – half cup
  • Rice Flour – 3 Table spoon
  • Wheat Flour – 3 Table spoon
  • Jaggery – ¼ cup
  • Grated Coconut – ¼ cup
  • Salt – Pinch
  • Ghee / Sesame Oil – as needed


  1. Wash and soak the millet for two hours
  2. Grind to a smooth paste with little water and transfer to a container
  3. Now add powdered jaggery, rice flour, wheat flour, coconut, salt, powdered cardamom seeds
  4. Mix well and set aside for two hours
  5. After two hours, mix well again. Add a pinch of cooking soda
  6. Now heat the paniyaram pan, pour 1/4th tea spoon oil in each shallow and pour this batter into them
  7. Cook covered on a medium flame for two minutes. Now flip, add more ghee and cook until turns golden brown

Note: Half a banana can also be added to this batter
